Who is God Preparing To Come Against the U.S.?

As I am reading/studying in the Old Testament, I am finishing up the Book of 2 Kings. I marvel at the history of the Israelites as they go from one wicked king to another; and despite the many warnings and punishments from God, the nation as a whole did not repent from their wicked and evil ways.  Their hearts were hardened against the commandments and laws of God.  This was the ancient past, but I can't help but compare their history to our current present state of affairs. The United States has been one the most blessed nations in the world. "One Nation Under God" has been our motto since our nation's inception, but when you look at the country today, this is no longer a nation "under God".  This nation has committed the exact same sins that the Hebrews committed so many years ago for which God utterly destroyed them.
How does the U.S. compare to the Israelites?  There are three main areas in which the U.S. is guilty and I believe that the United States does not have not much time before God's mercy ends and His righteous judgement begins.

Number 1: "And also because of the innocent blood that he shed; for he had filled Jerusalem with innocent blood, with the Lord would not pardon." 2 Kings 24:4

Number 2: "And there were also homosexuals and prostitutes in the land. They did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel." 1 Kings 14:24


 No other area like sexual sin is the word of God so twisted to support any wicked and detestable lifestyle. Sex sells is a common advertising slogan. Pornography both child and adult is a billion dollar industry.  Homosexual 'priests' & 'pastors', child molesters, pedophiles, homosexuals, bisexual, lesbians, individuals using social media technology for hooking up for quickie one night stands; it seems almost daily there is a news report of some teacher being arrested for inappropriate sexual conduct with a minor.  The Bible is crystal clear on what God thinks about any kind of sex outside a adult male and female relationship.  ALL other forms of sex are an abomination.

Number 3: "Then He said to me, "Go in, and see the wicked abominations they are doing there. So I went in and saw, and there-every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed around the walls...Then He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the room of his idols? For they say, "The Lord does not see us, the Lord has forsaken the land ." Ezekiel 8:9-12

The number one idols today are not an asherah poles or carven/graven images of animals/creatures, no the most common idol today is man. An article in the New Age publication Science of Mind states, “The significance of incarnation and resurrection is not that Jesus was a human like us but rather that we are gods like him—or at least have the potential to be." No where is this more apparent than in the entertainment business. To see fans at concerts and games, they cry and scream and literally bow down to their favorite artist, the adoration and devotion they show towards the famous is evident in how they follow their favorite team/celebrity relentlessly, giving their time, treasures, and talent to the service of either themselves or to another human being. "American Idol" is not just a t.v. show.  

There is going to be a Day of Judgment, and God will judge everyone who has ever lived, His wrath is going to poured out on all the wicked and ungodly. The eyes of the unrepentant wicked need to be opened and the ears unplugged so they can see and hear the truth.  The Good News  is Salvation is a free gift from God, anyone who will believes will know and have a real relationship with the true God.  You can't work for it or buy because the price has already been paid with the Blood of Jesus Christ and  Believing in Jesus gets us into the Kingdom of God and saves us from the righteous wrath of God. But that is not all, He gives us a new heart and mind NOW, and we receive some of His blessing from heaven NOW and are equipped to be able to live a life that is holy and acceptable to Him NOW.

1. Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is real, He lived and died and rose from the grave.

2. Believe that you are a sinner, repent-turn from your sins and realize and accept you need Jesus.

3. Confess that Jesus is your Lord and God

4. Find a local Bible preaching church that does obey the commandment for water baptism for the remission of your sins and to identify yourself with Christ.

This is just the first step to a lifelong journey of growing in truth and love with the God who created this earth and everything in it, including every human being that has ever lived.

Get Out of The Boat

A rope 1,300 feet long, two inches in diameter and made entirely of hemp would be the sole thing separating him from the roiling waters below.

In 1858, at 35 years old, Charles Blondin became the first man to walk on a tight rope across Niagara Falls. He was fearless and performed many daring acts on a tight rope; one to include rolling a wheel barrow along a two inch wire suspended miles above the the river. The crowds would cheer, and some would bet on him falling to his death because Blondin did not use any kind of safety apparatus at all. When he brought up the wheelbarrow, he asked the crowd, "Do you think I can make it?"  Some in the crowd cheered for him, "Yes, we believe in you, you can do it!" They believed this because they had seen him perform other amazing acts on the tight rope. He crossed over the river on the tight rope with the wheelbarrow and the crowd roared, cheering loudly.  Then he asked, "Who will get in the wheelbarrow and cross the river with me?"  The sound from the crowd was silence.

In 2011, Nik Wallenda, a descendant of famous tight ropers, was approved to attempt the same feet as Blondin, except, Nik was going to do it with all kinds of safety nets in place, to include having a helicopter near by to help him, "Just in case".  Blondin had no such assurances, yet he bravely performed many acts on the tight rope.

There is another story of a daring act to defy nature. It happened one night thousands of years ago. It happened when 12 men were instructed to get on a boat and cross a sea to get to the other side.  Before this new instruction, they had witnessed many great miraculous feats, greater than a man walking on a tightrope.  The man walked on water, not on ski's or in a boat or some other floating device.  No this man defied the very laws of gravity. That man was Jesus; the 12 men His chosen apostles. This particular story is very popular in the world. "Walkin' on water" is a common saying for someone doing something amazing in human eyes. But what Jesus did was just like any other day.  His trust and faith were completely secure in His Father, God, which empowered Him-Jesus, to do the impossible.

Now, the main point to this post is not to discuss the amazing feats of Jesus and man.  The focus of this post is about the bystanders/crowd, the 12 men. It is about their response to witnessing the great miraculous feat that I want to talk about here today. For the purpose of brevity, I will sum up what happened in Matthew Chapter 14.  Jesus had just performed another miracle in feeding 5,000 starting with just 5 loaves of bread and two fish.  Now historical records would indicate that it was probably more than 5,000 as more than just men would have following Him, the men would have their wives, children, and servants with them as well. After this, Jesus told His disciples to get in a boat and cross the Sea of Galilee and go before Him to the other side. This sea is about 13 miles long.
Let's stop here for a moment.  It is Jesus, not some unreliable, good for nothing person, telling them to go; and, before this, besides the food miracle, the disciples had witnessed many other miracles as well.  Jesus told them to go. *side bar that is the same instruction He gave to the disciples before He ascended back into heaven after sacrificing His body to the Cross of Calvary and rose from the dead.  Jesus said"GO therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am always with you, even to end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20. Simple instructions, go, why do we make it so complicated?*** OK, back to the focus of post*** Jesus tells them to get to the other side of sea in the boat, Jesus went off by Himself to pray.  

So, at the beginning, when everything was copacetic, the multitude/disciples had their fill of food, it is a nice warm day, the Sea of Galilee is calm and pristine, they get on the boat and set sail.  I can imagine their conversations, they may have been talking about the miracles Jesus was doing, or they may have been arguing among themselves who was best.

Some hours pass until it is night time, the disciples are in the boat and in the middle of the sea which becomes tossed by waves. It did not long before the calm waters turned to raging waves, knocking the boat and men around, the winds were violent and: "In the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went to them walking on the sea, and when the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying ,"It is a ghost!" And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them saying, " Be of good cheer! It is I; do not be afraid." Matthew 14: 25-27. Now, we are not told that the sea had calmed down at this point.

When Jesus called out to the disciples, Peter, the only one brave enough said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."  I love Jesus's responses, He doesn't use a lot of words and oratory dispensations, many times, He simply says, "Come", "Go" , "Stay".  In this instance, all Jesus said was, "Come".  Now Peter starts out great, he believes it is Jesus and he gets out of the boat and actually is defying nature himself, walking on the sea towards Jesus. But now Peter proves the principle, "It's not how you start, it's how you finish that wins the game".  Peter made the number one mistake we who are followers of Christ tend to make when faced with difficult circumstances, he took his eyes off of Jesus.  Now when taking his eyes off Jesus, he did not close them, no he looked at the storm, the raging waves, and fierce winds and he believed at that moment that his life was in danger, where was his belief in Jesus?  Where is our faith when trouble comes?  Like the crowds at the Blondin's tight rope act with the wheelbarrow, even though the crowd had seen him cross over the tight rope with the wheel barrow just fine, where did the crowds faith in him go when challenged with getting in the wheelbarrow and crossing the raging river over the tiny tight rope?  One word that describes both reasons to for not putting their fate in another's hands, FEAR. Another word is DOUBT.


When face to face with the 'monster' our natural instincts tend to kick in, to either fight or flee. But when a person puts on Christ, they are not supposed to operate under the natural anymore.  "I have been crucified (my flesh) with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20.  and "God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of loved and of sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7.  It is the Spirit of God that empowers His followers to operate in the spiritual realm. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. But Peter walking in the flesh, took his eyes off of the One Who Can save and strengthen him, and allowed fear and doubt to rein in his heart and he began to sink into the sea. Peter came to his senses and cried out to the only One who could save him. Peter did not cry out to the other disciples in the boat, or cry for them to put down a rope. No he called to the One true Savior, his Lord and King, Jesus; and Jesus did not hesitate to rescue him. Jesus stretched out His hand and said, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?"

This particular passage in the Bible is talking to us now in our present time.  Many self professing Christians are like the other 11 disciples and Peter.  Some are still in the boat, cowering, afraid, doubting, trusting more in the boat than anything else.  Some are like Peter, they see Christ, but then they take their eyes off of Him and instead are like the seed that fell in the thorns, their cares/troubles are for the things of this world. Many are like the crowds at Blondin's shows, just standing on the side lines, cheering, but not willing to risk it all by participating in the stunt with him. Some are like Nik Wallenda, they only do things as long as they have a safety net in place.  Many are not wanting or willing to risk it all for Christ. Think that staying in the boat or the side line is just fine.  Not according to the written Word. Jesus Himself said in Luke 14:26-27 "If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his father and mother, wife, and children, brothers and sisters, and yes his own life also, he cannot be my disciple." and at verse 33 in the same chapter, "So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple."

So what is keeping you, me from getting out of the boat, stepping out of the side line in climbing into the wheelbarrow? Let us all examine ourselves, asking God to help us remove all forms of doubt and fear. His perfect love casts out fear.  We have no need to worry about any trouble in this world as Jesus overcame it all with His blood.  Trust in His blood, Trust in Him, Trust in the Father and Holy Spirit.  They are all we need.

The Cowardly Christian-No Such Thing

Fear is one of the most commonly given into emotion that people suffer from today. Fear is not only an emotion but it is also a thought and belief system. Fear includes anxiety, worry, timidness, and doubt.  Why do so many who profess to know Christ, suffer from fear? When I first started writing this post, the first thought that came to my mind was the cartoon character/show 'Scooby Do'.  This animated cartoon entertained children and adults for years. It's main theme was how the title character Scooby Do, was a 'scaredy cat', as dogs stereotypically are seen as fearless and brave, but Scooby Do acted like a 'cat' instead: fearful, shaking, and quaking at fake monsters/villains.  There are two spiritual implications here: the irrational fear of Scooby and the fact that he was scared of unreal monsters.  This is the same scenario for Christians; their fear is irrational and they are afraid of unreal, fake 'monsters'.  The 'monsters' in Christians lives are mostly fear of the future and fear of the past. It didn't take much for Scooby Do to become terrified and hide under the bed or jump in Scraggy's arms; the actual 'monster' did not even have to be seen, just the 'thought' of hearing about the monster was enough to send Scooby scampering away to hide. This is an example of a very common irrational and distorted thought pattern called 'Fortune Telling'; when a person 'fortune tells' they assume something 'bad' is going to happen, and this thought leads to feelings of fear and anxiety which leads to unhealthy and cowardly behaviors.

What does the Bible have to say about fear?  The ONLY thing/One that people are to fear is GOD! Solomon, the wisest man to ever live, concluded after experiencing EVERY pleasure, EVERY man-made materials/entertainment, EVERY activity, that at the end of the whole matter, ALL THAT MATTERS is, "FEAR GOD AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS."

Now, I can hear the arguments, "You don't know what I'm going through. There are things to be scared of like being raped or murdered or losing my job or losing my house or losing my kids or getting a disease". Are these issues to be 'concerned' about? Yes, but Christians are not to be afraid of these things;and, most definitely are not to obsess over them either;and that is what many people do, they obsess and live in a constant state of 'fear', shaking and quaking in their boots at imaginary foes. The truth of the matter comes down to one fact: this kind of fear is disbelief of God, pure and simple. 'Oh, but I do believe there is a God, I just can't help being afraid'. If this is the case, what 'about' 'God' do you believe? No where in any passage or in any verse in the Bible are God's people EVER given the 'ok' to be fearful of anything besides Him. NEVER.

• 'Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees, say to those who are fearful-hearted, "Be strong, DO NOT FEAR! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.' Isaiah 35:3-4
• 'Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, NEITHER LET IT BE AFRAID." John 14:27
• 'Have I not COMMANDED you (not a suggestion a COMMAND!!!!)? Be strong and of good courage: DO NOT BE AFRAID, nor DISMAYED, FOR THE LORD GOD IS WITH YOU WHEREVER YOU GO.' Joshua 1:9
• 'Therefore DO NOT WORRY about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble". Matthew 6:34

 There are many more verses with the same message: DO NOT BE AFRAID! So I ask again why are so many of those who think they are Christians afraid?  The Bible says it's because of unbelief and no faith. Psalm 27 verse 1, "The Lord is my light and my salvation, WHOM SHALL I FEAR?" Yes, David is asking a rhetorical question- a rhetorical question means no answer is expected or the answer is obvious. The logical and rational thoughtful contemplation to this question, 'whom shall I fear' is based on the presupposed notation that God, All Mighty, All Powerful, Creator of All things, The Great I Am, The One who rescued the Hebrews from slavery in miraculous ways, This God, I know is REAL and this God knows me, and This God has my back, This God I can depend on, If I have THIS GOD, the answer to the question, 'whom shall I fear?' is NO ONE!!!!!!!

• 'But I could lose my job, I could end up being homeless, I could die from this disease, I could lose my children, I've lost my children/my spouse does God not care????' This is just another ignoring of the previous statements. This is a stupid question, 'does God not care'.  Of course He cares, He cared so much for an ungrateful, utterly depraved mankind that He came and DIED a very terrible death to save us! "Surely He Has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows;..But He was wounded for our iniquities. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him. And by His stripes we are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5. The God who created the moon, the stars, the sun, the earth, the universe and other planets, and everything in the earth, but this God can't help you with your housing, your relationships, your job, your finances, your health, or anything else? 
• 'But, what I'm going through is the worst thing ever, the pain is overwhelming, I'm a good Christian, God doesn't care, if He did why am going through this?' So you want to compare pains, so you lost a child, what about God's pain, His pain of losing not one or two but countless trillions of 'children' /souls since the beginning of time that have choose to reject Him and instead worship satan and end up forever alienated from God. Can you compare your pain to His? "Yet I will leave a remnant, so the you may some who escape the sword among the nations when you are scattered through the countries. Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations." Ezekiel 6:8-10. 
•  'Well I'm homeless now, this proves God doesn't care."  Does God not understand what it's like to not have a physical roof over His Head? Jesus knows about being temporarily homeless, "Foxes have holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head." Matthew 8:20.  
• 'But I have no money, I can't buy food, I can't pay my bills." Is it ok to worry in this instance, the answer is still no. "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal...do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life MORE than food and the body more than clothing." Matthew 6:19 and verse 25.
• But I could be murdered or killed, someone is being killed every day, this proves God doesn't care. "Do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28.

No matter what exactly it is you are fearing, it doesn't matter, Christians are to fear NOTHING.

If you are a self confessed Christian struggling with the enemy called fear, God has a very crucial warning in Revelation Chapter 21 verse 8, the very first 'sin' that 'people commit and don't repent of' listed that WILL NOT inherit the Kingdom of God are 'the cowardly'(fearful, timid); and right after that 'the unbelieving'.  These two sins go hand in hand, because it is unbelief that underlies fear-not believing in God or His power or His abilities or His Word. And something to take note of, fearing in the manner discussed so far is a sin.  I'm not calling fear sin, the Word of God is calling it sin.

So what's the solution?

1. Believe- There is absolutely no rational or logical reason a True Christian should not believe God. It is impossible to please God without faith. When Jesus walked on the water in Matthew chapter 14, Peter asked to walk on the water too; Jesus told him to come, and Peter started out ok, but when he took his eyes off of Jesus and looked at the storm, Peter became afraid.  That is what we do when we fear, we take out eyes off of Jesus.  Jesus's response to Peter was not, "I understand why you are afraid, it's no problem." No, Jesus made a statement to Peter which is the same statement for ALL followers of Christ, "WHY DID YOU DOUBT, YOU OF LITTLE FAITH?" Peter's response is a perfect example of an irrational response. Peter had been told by Jesus to come, Jesus is God, so if God tells you do something, why would you fear?   Peter's fear indicated a belief that Jesus was going to let him drown. He didn't think about all the miracles Jesus had performed up till them, but right there in the moment he forgot Who God was. Prior to this, Jesus had told the disciples that the very hairs of their head were known by God, and that they were more valuable than many sparrows. Why after Jesus had called out the disciples to follow Him, would He suddenly just let them die? The obvious answer is HE WOULDN'T.  That is why we are instructed to THINK RATIONALLY about the Word of God.  Now this does not mean that we will not have concerns or grief about real life issues. The problem is when something 'bad ' happens, many people just wallow in self pity and disbelief and doubt, they live in fear and its associated unstable emotional state. "Weeping may endure for a night, But Joy comes in the morning."Psalm 30:5. This verse does not say, 'weeping will endure every night or for years' and it doesn't say 'joy 'may' come or 'could come possibly'. Our reactions to the consequences of living in a cursed world should be timely with ending. Weeping and mourning is for normal grief inducing life events. but believers are not to 'endure forever' in weeping/mourning.  It is amazing how many Christians struggle with fear because they have been hurt in the past, they act 'surprised' that they have been victims of some kind of abuse.  It's as if they don't even READ the Bible because Jesus said, IN THIS WORLD YOU WILL HAVE TROUBLE!!!John 16:33 Not might, not maybe, but WILL.  "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace (not fear). In the world you will have tribulation/trouble/persecution; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."; and that since the world hated Him, the world would hate His followers-John 16:18. So what happens if you don't believe?  "Therefore I say to you that you will die in your sins if you do not believe that I am He."John 8:24  These are Jesus's words to the unbelieving.
2. Repent- "Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you" Revelation 3:3 and "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten.  Therefore be zealous and repent." Revelation 4:19. "Essentially, to repent is to turn away from sin and to turn to God and trust in the Gospel. It involves the altering of both the inward emotions of the mind and heart and the outward actions of the body," KcMcaul.  Gods goodness should lead you to true repentance and Godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation. 
   
3. Let Go- "Casting all your care upon Him for He cares for you". 1 Peter 5:7
   
4. SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM- Instead of worrying or being afraid

  5. Pray- "The Lord is far from the wicked, But He hears the prayer of the righteous". Proverbs 15:29.  "Rejoice Always" and "Pray without ceasing" In EVERYTHING give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18.  So don't be anxious, fearful, timid, doubting about ANYTHING.

6. Trust- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart (mind, and soul), And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:5
